[00:00:00] Aruba is known as one of the most exotic destinations to travel to.

[00:00:05] But for one family, what was meant to be a healing vacation turned into a mother's worst nightmare.

[00:00:13] I said, I'm looking for my son. Have they come back yet?

[00:00:16] And he goes, dark-haired boy. And I said, yeah, he doesn't know we're looking for him. They haven't come back yet.

[00:00:21] And at that point, that sinking feeling like something was wrong.

[00:00:25] I'm your host, Jen Rivera. And this is The Unseen Truth Season 2.

[00:00:30] This season, I'm covering the unsolved case of 14-year-old Max Devereys, who mysteriously disappeared in Aruba in 2004.

[00:00:38] Max was last seen going on a jet ski ride with a man from the resort his family was staying at, and was never seen again.

[00:00:46] My mom came in the hotel room, and that's when I was told that Max was missing. Everything just kind of spiraled after that.

[00:00:57] Max's disappearance was ruled as a tragic accident by Aruba officials. But there are so many pieces to this puzzle that have been eliminated.

[00:01:06] Cory Williams, the detective who had helped make Max's case, opened to the FBI way in the beginning when nobody else would help.

[00:01:15] I sat at a table and he makes one phone call and finds out that they had a criminal history of on-the-child molestation charges against a senior

[00:01:25] and the Aruba government didn't do their job. They did not make that phone call. They did not do anything other than sweep it under the rug saying,

[00:01:34] oh, it was a tragic jet ski accident. Would they have thought that if they had the correct information, they would have made one phone call?

[00:01:41] Because it was there, it's open information.

[00:01:44] Join me as I dive deep into the unseen realm of this case and put together the pieces of what really happened to Max.

[00:01:53] The truth is right below the surface, and we know exactly where to look.
